Attractions
Dunajec gorge:
The raft trip on the Dunajec River is an amazing opportunity to see wild and unspoiled nature. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Poland. It is also the best way to visit the Pieniny National Park. The rafting tradition began in the first half of the 19th century. The Dunajec River has made a beautiful and romantic gorge in the limestone rocks of the Pieniny mountains, known as the Dunajec Gorge. The trip is on a wooden raft in a deep canyon with a lot of curves. The river winds its way amongst steep rocks, so the views are breathtaking. During the raft, the raftsmen tell interesting stories about the Pieniny Mountains and the legends of Janosik.
The rafting season starts in May and ends in October. The trip begins at the raft wharf in Sromowce K¹ty. It lasts 2 or 3 hours, depending on the water level. One raft can take maximum 12 adults (and 2 raftsmen). The trip ends in Szczawnica Nizna.
